Something that all of us want but does not come easily is happiness. Happiness is definitely that we may need to work on. We have to find ways to be able to learn happiness regardless of the things that happen in our lives. It really is something that we are able to do and able to do well. It is not necessary for us to worry about what other people may think because we only get a single chance to make the most of our lives and after all it is our life and not anyone else’s.

Why Worry?

Most of us get the occasional stomach-churning bout of worry but just because we all get butterflies doesn’t mean worrying is a healthy habit - it isn’t! When you worry, you are living in a future world that may not ever happen. Also, just because you don’t know a future outcome it doesn’t mean it’s going to be negative.

Worry can motivate you to do things like warning your children not to talk to strangers or double-checking directions to get somewhere- these reactions are pretty normal. Worry only becomes ineffective when, for example, you are still contemplating getting lost even though you have mapped out your route and printed out the directions. In other words you have taken steps to insure a positive outcome yet you still spend time and energy on expecting a negative result.

There are ways to reduce how much you worry about things. It takes practice but what it boils down to is changing how you think about the world and really believing that tomorrow is going to bring something great not something awful. Read more »

Last night I was cleaning up my office, and going through some notes I had taken when I met with my business mentor in New York last week, and I came across a powerful quote.

This quote is actually very simple to understand, but literally blew my mind when I really thought about it.

“You must always strive to UPGRADE your conversation daily.”

When my mentor recited this idea, I was lost for a moment. What did he mean by “UPGRADE your conversation”?

Then I got it. You see, so many of us get caught up in the “talking game”.

We love to “talk the talk”; but when it comes to “walking the walk” most of us find a way to busy ourselves, and get out of it.

Goal setting is a very powerful technique that can yield strong returns in all areas of your life. Goal setting can help you grow in life. It can help you achieve more.

So what do you need to do first? You need to define a goal. You need to know exactly what you want, when you want it, and why you want it. What ever your dream is. That is your goal. If you don’t know exactly what your goal is, you will not commit to it. You will not have enough of a desire to achieve it. Successful business-people know exactly what they want to achieve in business and they make goals a top priority.

When you do write your goals down, you need to ask yourself one important question. Is this goal realistic? Is it attainable? Do you really believe that you can reach it? Faith is also an important ingredient that can make or break your goal. If you don’t believe that you can make your goal a reality, then you probably won’t. You need to have faith in yourself. You need to have faith in your goals. You need to have faith that you can reach any goal that you set.
