Is Online Dating For You After A Divorce?

Until Death Do You Part?
That certainly was a lie. Your spouse got the house, a younger you, and you got the children. Definitely not an even split there.

Six months later - Enter your friend…
Friend: You can’t just sit around by yourself forever.
You: But I’m not alone. I have the children.
Friend: The children, humph. They don’t keep you warm at night, do they?
You: It’s not like that anymore.
Friend: Of course it’s not. Really, it isn’t.
Friend: I know someone. This person is recently divorced too.

Freeze Frame. Get rid of friend. You can mail the coat after you finally get over the fact that the first choice for you is someone who failed Marriage 101 too. When you are ready to date, when you have moved that big band-aid off your heart, it won’t be so that a friend of a friend can dance on your scab. It will be because you’re ready to share your life with someone again. Read more »

6 Secrets to Happiness

Have you ever thought that you could have more, be more and do more? Have you ever wondered what it would take to really have a successful life? What if you could have the life of your dreams?

Happiness is just within your reach. It’s just on the other side of the gnawing fear. It’s just on the other side of that self-defeating game that you keep on playing. The question is how do we get ‘there’ from here. The question is what do you have to do?

The first secret to happiness that I have found is in identifying what makes you truly happy. It’s a difficult task to do especially if you really do this from your heart, not what your head tells you. I discovered when I went through this process that the things that I want are not like what anyone else wants for me. I had to discover what I want and let go of old ideas and pleasing other people. For me, happiness means that I walk down the sidewalk with my head held high because I know that I am right with God or a Higher Being. Happiness means that I’m not held back by all the garbage in my past. Happiness is feeling like I have a purpose and living my life with passion and vibrancy. Read more »

Organising the celebrations were their sixteen children. The couple re-enacted their bridal waltz, to the tearful applause of their large brood. They had brought up a close-knit, loving family, not without a great deal of sacrifice and hard work. Yet perhaps their greatest achievement of all, was remaining close and affectionate to one another. Their children were justifiably proud of their wonderful parents.

The number one characteristic of a happy family is a loving relationship between parents. It is consistently proven through research that parental conflict and hostility causes children to experience distress and disturbance. Yet today, when our busy lives often leave us stressed and exhausted, parental relationships are usually the first to suffer. Read more »

Couples therapists report a 50% increase in female infidelity. The cover story in the current issue of Newsweek magazine is all about cheating wives: “The New Infidelity - From Office Affairs to Internet Hook-Ups, More Wives Are Cheating Too.” Yet, as widespread as female infidelity has become, many unsuspecting husbands have no idea their wives are having an affair. They often find themselves in a situation like David in the Newsweek article, who found out his wife was cheating the day she told him she wanted a divorce. Unsuspecting husbands are often surprised when they learn about a cheating wife’s extramarital affair. But, the stark reality is that if a husband isn’t familiar with the signs of infidelity, by the time he finds out his wife is cheating, it’s usually too late.

Women Don’t Become Cheaters Overnight
Yet many of the signs may have been there all along. A woman doesn’t become a cheating wife overnight. Infidelity develops in stages. In almost every case, there are numerous telltale signs along the way.
